We’re Building Community, Locally: House by House – Garden by Garden- Farm by Farm. The Byrd House Market is working to grow Richmond’s access to local foods while building community along the way. We encourage participation by local small farmers and producers, Youth, Backyard Growers and Community Gardeners. Volunteers needed to help with various tasks to help run the Byrd House Market each Tuesday through end of October. Volunteers can help once or as often as interested. Volunteers needed to help: post (1- 2 pm)directional signs retrieve (7-7:30 pm)directional signs help with Market take down (7-8pm) - break down tents, chairs, tables, etc. - 5 volunteers needed help prepare Market Basket (3:30-4:30) Cooking Demo Helper (3:30-6:30, 1 hour shifts) Share Table Helper (3:15-5:30pm; 5:15-7pm)- manning table selling donated plants and vegetables (or selling for a backyard grower, gardener or vendor who can’t attend Market) Circulating Info Sharer and Volunteer - sharing market information (music, cooking demos, market basket raffle, etc.) and relieving vendors for short breaks
