Water, Water Everywhere and Now It is to Drink

The most important need in this world is potable water. When doing a science project two years ago I found out about the FILTRON ceramic water filters developed by Potters for Peace. The 3000+ people who live in the Islands of Lake Nicaragua were suffering from endless water-borne disease: parasites, amoebic dysentery, infant mortality were just a few of the health problems they encountered on a daily basis. In cooperation with the organization Families Involved Serving Humanity, Inc. I have been raising funds for and distributing these low cost water filtration systems for the past two years. Over 150 families now have a way to have potable drinking water straight out of Lake Nicaragua.
