Last week we were invited to be a part of a Times Square tradition! The Times Square Valentine is an annual competition to design and build a valentine for display in Times Square in February. This project of the Times Square Alliance Public Art Program is funded in part by the Rockefeller Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. The winning design this year was called “Light Hearted” and was a huge success. Our friends at JetBlue took over the square for the day and asked us to provide a call to action. We partnered with Adam Lowy of Move for Hunger (a former grant winner!) and collected 835 lbs of food, which Steinway Moving & Storage delivered to the Food Bank for NYC. That’s enough food to provide over 640 meals to those in need! A special HUGE shout-out to our college interns who ROCKED this event. Seriously, they were there from 8:30 to 5 and ran this on their own. FTW!
