24/7 hotlines exist for teens in need of toll-free numbers and chat, but there is still a need for crisis support over the SMS. We have been working to launch, separate from DoSomething.org, a text line for young people in crisis. Below is our CEO & Chief Old Person Nancy Lublin's talk at the 2012 TED conference.
We've been overwhelmed with the positive responses we've received around this. Thank you everyone for your email and phone inquiries.
We Have Launched the Website
Visit the Crisis Text Line website [1]. And below, indicate if you're interested in working with us.
Please note: We are not currently monitoring this communication form for immediate crisis. Furthermore, the current DoSomething.org text line doesn't handle crisis response. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911 or your local police station. If you need to talk with a hotline, please refer to our crisis hotlines [2] list.
