The Problem

I have noticed that in poorer communities, especially in developing countries, kids turn to the sport of soccer for exercise and play. The sport is a universal outlet of joy and distraction from the harsh reality of poverty. However, a lot of times kids' soccer balls get irreversibly punctured, or sometimes they don't even have a soccer ball to play with at all, and instead kick around plastic bottles, and the game is halted until someone can find another expensive ball. The soccer balls are not durable enough to play with in harsher regions for long periods of time, and when the ball is punctured, the kids have to stop playing.

Plan of Action

I would like to get the community involved in a charity soccer tournament that will ultimately raise money to buy indestructible soccer balls for both local and international at-risk communities. Each team's entry fee will pay for the indestructible balls. The organization that manufactures these balls is called One World Futbol, and their indestructible soccer balls that I would like to donate can be found at www.oneworldfutbol.com.
