I am a part of the Rexburg Mayor's Youth Advisory Board. We are an organization put together to get the youth involved in the community. We have a semi-annual Rexburg Pride Day. We have done various activities such as up-keep on the parks: major projects including trimming trees, cutting and digging the grass away from the trees, painting the paviliouns, digging out the pebbles below the playground and putting in soft bark, washing and cleaning the public bathrooms, etc. We invite the whold community out to have some pride and keep the public areas looking nice. We have had very good turn-outs. Students from the high school are very supportive as well as the scouts in the area. I feel that the Mayor's Youth Advisory Board is a very effective and worthwhile organization. The town pride days are something I look forward to. It helps the community grow as individuals as well as a whole. I am assisting in the spring cleaning one in may. We are planning on cleaning up the park and cutting the grass around the trees again, also we are trying to get greenhouses to donate trees that we can plant.
