why it's important:

It's important to me, because I grew up in a family where being "big boned" was natural for blacks. But along with being overweight or obese, many of my family members, including myself suffer from high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

the plan of action:

My plan of action is to work with my organization to build as much awareness around our Walk for Children's Health as possible. It is a fundraiser for our Children's Sports & Fitness Expo.
