We held a backpack and school supply drive in our town to hand-deliver to the impoverished children of Uganda. We successfully collected over 400 backpacks, which we brought with us to Uganda on our two-week service trip there in July of 2009. I strongly believe that education is the best way to help these children grow out of the poverty that they were born into. We also participated in well dedications, facing the issue of lack of clean drinking water in Africa. We visited local clinics and saw the spreading issue of AIDS/HIV, malaria, and other disease there.
