The Problem

Funding is an ongoing problem at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland pediatric cancer research department. Our team goal is to increase community awareness & encourage more charitable contributions to "Cure Kids Cancer".

Plan of Action

In March 2010 I formed a team of teenage volunteers that included two adult mentors. We increased community awareness & charitable donations that totaled over $3,755.75 during Summer 2010 fundraising "Walk in the Parks". After the fundraising project ended I located an organization that donated 50 teddy bears to give to children in the hospital. The teddy bears often cheer up a small child that is undergoing invasive chemotherapy treatments.
