4-H Mentoring in Ingham County

the problem:

Our mentoring program is a one-on-one mentoring program in which adult volunteers are matched with a Lansing youth in need of a mentor. The adult mentor and the youth spend two hours a week together. Because our program is community-based, youth and adults meet on their own time outside of school and work. When mentors and mentees meet, they go do activities in the Lansing community. In our program, adult mentors assist with academics, promote positive interpersonal interaction, and encourage youth to live up to their full potential. Most importantly, our mentors act as a caring and dependable adult who offers friendship and wisdom.
