Our club is a free program open to middle school students at Westwood Middle School in Spring Lake Park, MN. This club is youth run, and promotes healthy living and an active life style for youth in the community. The kids learn the martial art of Tae Kwon Do, as well as learn different skills and tools for leading a healthy life. In addition to the physical activity, they engage in cooking and nutrition activities, as well as participate in service-learning projects. The major service-learning project we are undertaking is a school garden, where the kids learn gardening skills, do their research, and create a themed garden for their school.
