The Problem

Kids Helping Kids is a program designed to assist 4-H families in times of need. Whether it's a major disaster like fire or flood, or a little closer to home like the death of a family member or a severe illness, KHK is here to help. The Missouri State 4-H Council set a goal of $60,000 and has been working towards it for many years.

Plan of Action

The plan was to encourage 4-H members to raise money any way they wanted to donate to the Kids Helping Kids fund from January 2010-April 2010. I sent out many letters of encouragement and even organized some fundraisers in my home county. My main goal was to make the need known. We were so close to the goal this year that I wanted all 4-Hers in Missouri to help out. The money raised goes to any 4-H family in the state, so some of these kids and families donating money could need it some day. I honestly don't know the exact number of 4-Hers, families, and clubs that have participated or the number of people inspired, but I do know this fund will help all 4-Hers in Missouri, all 94,000 of them!
