See It

The Center for Service and Civic Engagement at Wilmington College seeks to engage students, faculty, and staff in responsible and challenging actions for the common good. Though this endeavor students from Wilmington College will organize a review of poverty to educate the college population on issues surrounding global human rights. This event will begin with a panel discussion from students, faculty, staff, and community members regarding their thoughts on fighting and irradiating poverty. This conversation will lead into a service activity at Sugartree ministries where students will work hand in hand with middle school youth who are at risk for not graduating high school. College students and Middle school students will serve dinner at this local “non-soupkitchen” and will conclude their evening with a conversation about goals and dreams after high school, and what needs to be done to reach that dream.
