The Problem
In remote regions of the world and in those close to home, health care is not something that is debated because it is not something that exists.
An individual with a medical emergency does not have the option to call "911" or to go to a local hosiptal and there are rarely institutions like insurance to help pay for care.
By spreading awareness of this fact, you can inspire those in your local community to take action to support the building and upkeep of clinics that are being constructed to help meet the medical needs of communities around the world.
Plan of Action
In 2007, I helped found RADR (Rescue and Aid for the Dominican Republic) to work specifically in Baharona, a region of the nation that is in dire need of health care services.
Since founding RADR I have worked in my community to raise over $1,000 to support the upkeep of the clinic and to contribute to the building of a medical lab to run tests for the existing clinic and to save the clinic the cost of sending tests off to the capital of the country.
I plan to continue to work with my community to support the community of Baharona and to inspire others to find a community they can support!
