The Problem
Adopt a Road, it is the one in my neighborhood and I pick up the litter on a weekly basis. I am also the only one that picks up the litter on the road, so if I do not get out there to do it will not get done.
Plan of Action
The effort required and the most difficult part are both the same. It is finding the time with the already full schedule that I keep. I am involved with the school Marching and Concert Bands in which I play the trombone and this year was chosen as the drum major and field commander. I am an officer in the FFA and member of the horse, livestock and soil judging teams. I belong to the 4-H and a member of their horse and livestock judging teams. I also compete in Junior Rodeo, in the barrels and pole bending competitions which I placed 4th overall this year. And I work part time on a farm. I am busy all of the time so making time and keeping a schedule is the most challenging thing that I have to do.
The only ones that I have recruited to help me are my parents, which is normal, they are always there to help when I need it. Overall my volunteer work has made people happy. It has also made life a little easier for them. It shows everyone that there are people out there that do care what happens to others. It has set a good example to other boys and girls my age to follow. It has helped keep the earth a tiny bit cleaner for future generations. In my neighborhood there are eleven homes and twenty-six people that are impacted by the project.
