The Problem
Africa lack educational resource and this as let to most of the problems such as: poverty caused by lack of opportunities, war caused by insecurity, misuse of resources caused by lack of accountability, and Diseases caused by ignorance.
Why It's Important
Africa Empowerment Organization focuses on helping students and unfortunate Children in Africa by supplying them with study materials. My main focus is to break the chain of dependency that Africa has on the developed world. My organization’s goal is to start by motivating my fellow Kenyans to build a library. The library will be built using readily available materials. It will be centralized between seven schools, so that all the seven schools will benefit from the library.
Our organization goal is that by the spring of 2009, we would like to send a forty foot container, filled with learning materials, to Africa to fill the library.
The Plan Of Action
By having African locals build their own library we hope that it will inspire them to know that Africans do not have to depend on developed worlds for everything, and that Knowledge is KEY! My hope is that through knowledge from the study materials, Africans will create their own opportunities to support themselves. Since I am from Africa I truly understand the importance for my fellow Africans to be able to stand on their own to feet.
