In an effort to engage youth in Allegany County, the Red Cross Club provides youth with various community service opportunities. With the guidance of the Allegany County Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Club completes projects dealing with disaster response and preparedness, health and safety services, blood drives and community involvement with other local agencies. Up to now, projects have been very small and easily completed within the time span of one meeting. Projects have included making "Thank You" cards for blood donors; making puzzles to put in children's disaster kits, which are handed out to those who are affected by a disaster; and they have also made posters to hang up in the training room at the Allegany County Chapter. Red Cross Clubs are a great way for youth to become involved in the community and help make a difference!!
