The Problem

Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed service based fraternity. Our fraternity is based upon three cardinal principles: leadership, friendship, and service. Our chapter here at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia is one of the smaller chapters in our region, but that does not mean that we lack motivation and dedication. We are trying to fund our way to the Alpha Phi Omega Sectional Conference so we can gain ideas from other chapters to help better our chapter and our community and also participate in a large community service projects with all the other chapters. We have completed several different types of community service, such as: working in soup kitchens, picking up trash along a highway, working at a Ronald McDonald house, working at local high schools, etc. While continuing to volunteer at the same organizations is easy and wonderful, we are looking for new ways to better serve our community. By going to the conference, we can gain the knowledge we need.

Plan of Action

Have 15 members of our fraternity attend the Alpha Phi Omega Sectional Conference on April 19th-21st in Newport News, Virginia. At the conference there are several seminars and discussions that can help better our fraternity and the more members that attend the conference, the more seminars and discussions we can be at, thus the more information and knowledge we gain. Also, the more members that attend, the greater the community service project will turn out.
