The Problem

The problem that I am tryin to solve is not just within my community, it is a worldwide problem. Alzheimer's Disease affects 100s of elderly people each year and their families have no clue how to cope it. I am helping the elder communities and their families gain the knowledge and materials needed when this disease strikes. Having the resources that I have provided, will allow that family to move quickly and effectivley and save the life of thier loved one.

Plan of Action

My project, ALzhiemer's Awareness had many steps before its unvailing. I had first contacted the Office of Aging and Alzheimer's Association to recieve information such as brochures, phamplets, booklets that I could use along with my research. The educator and trainer at the Alzheimer's Foundation had made a meeting to meet with me and discuss my project in detail and what she can do to help me achieve my goal. After having the educator and trainer helping me, I sent out guest speaker letters to neurologists, elder care lawyers, care centers, home care and social workers to have them speak at my seminars on their involvement to Alzheimers. After getting acceptances frm the guest speakers, I worked on contacting different centers, foundations, assocations to recieve materials to hand out to all my attendees at these seminars. The impact from this was extrodianry. I had the Director of Health and Human Servies from my community come on behalf on the mayor to praise me for my effort. I had several elderly people come from the residents home next door and attend my seminar along with parents concerned for their parents.
