I am part of a program called the Ambassadors. First i will tell you how i got started. When i was about ten years old my parents got divorced. my father kind of dropped out on me and my brothers. when that happened my mother felt that we should have positive male influences on our life. she found this organization called the Family Centered Educational Agency(FCEA) and they had a program called the B.R.O.T.H.H.A.S. which stands for building relationships on trust honesty and strength. this was a abstinence program that taught boys how to be young men. we went through many workshops and a lot of us found out who we actually were. they would take us out to see new things, and also on college tours. to sum it up they have been a real blessing on me and my family. At the end of the program they give you a choice on whether you want to take a vow of abstinence, and if you are willing to wait and not have sex until you are married or pursue in any risky behaviors. I decided to take the vow. After you go through the program you have a choice if you want to go on to another program called the Ambassadors. When i decided to go into that program i didn't know what i was getting myself into. This is a program that teaches you by you teaching others. we would go around the state of Illinois and spread our message through workshops, skits, and panels. What we do isn't just something that we do just to get outside of the house, it is a lifestyle. we feel that you cant spread a message about living right when we aren't living right ourselves. Since we are talking to our peers we have to show how we live when we walk the street, school, or anything else. We teach our peers about the benefits of living a healthy and positive life, and the consequences of living a negative life. I am not trying to say that we are all perfect, no, we are all human, but anyone who sees our character can say that we try our hardest. So this is my project. I am telling my peers about all the risky behaviors in the world and how i am trying to influence my peers.
