The Problem

When I was young I was very active in the youth ministries at my church. One of those ministries was a youth choir. To my dismay, there was no active youth choir at my church after I graduated from college. This was an issue for me because that meant the youth of my church community were not being given the chance to participate in an activity I found very valuable as a young person.

Plan of Action

The Angelic Voices of Zion got their start in October 2008 as the Sunbeam Choir when I volunteered to direct a group of timid young girls sang for the Women’s Day Service. The choir then reformed with boys included to sing at the Lynn Community Minority Cultural Center’s MLK Celebration. There they sang under the name of the ZBC Martin Luther King Youth Choir. However, it was decided that they would become a permanent fixture at the church and have been practicing and ministering at various events like "Set It Off", "ZBC Fall Concert 2009", and "First Baptist of Saugus Youth Program" ever since.
