The Problem

Our troops that are deployed are very lonely and some never get mail or packages , so we collect items and raise money for postage to send to them.We also buy items that they need that are not donated.We have had letters explaining how they might have had a really bad week and lost some of the soldiers and then they got boxes and it lifted everyone's morale to know someone at home cares about them.

Plan of Action

We hold meetings to pack boxes, plan future fund raisers and carry them out.We do grocery store donation drives to collect food items. We have had 2 teen concerts bringing in $1,000 each. We have done a yard sale that made $1300. We have done car washes and bake sales that have raised considerable money. I am in 8th grade and plan to do this until I graduate and hope to pass the torch to someone when I go to college.We would like to increase the number of soldiers we can send to.
