The Problem

The Alief community is a historic community in Houston, it is located in the Southwest area of Houston. We are working with youth ranging for 13-19 years of age. Our main goal is to mentor and educate our youth about life. Some of the problems we would like to deal with in the community are; gang violence, positive programs for the youth to be involved in, along with a positive enviorment for the young people to enjoy.

Plan of Action

We recently have relocated to Houston Tx. (Alief community) where we notice the youth in the community did not have a place to play outdoor sports. Along with the youth not having a place to play sports the youth also don't have a place to hang out and call their own. As youth leaders and mentors we would like to create a space for the youth to call their own. We would like the youth to be involved in the project 100%. We know this is not something that will happen over night but we would like to put forth a good effort.
