The Problem

Poverty throughout the world is overwhelming, and I have been blessed to help out the small village of Sakete, located in Benin - West Africa. Poverty has left millions of children orphaned and people dying of curable and preventable diseases. Our efforts are to help the children and be a family to them so that they are not dying of starvation or diseases, or being subjected to child labor. So, we try to raise money, awareness, and support for children to be able to live in an orphanage, go to school, get health care, and have hope for a future.

Plan of Action

We have already taken several trips to help with the children, provide medical assistance, educational opportunities, and encouragement. Along with this, we have raised funds through local efforts such as 5k runs, dodgeball tournaments, craft sales, and educational seminars to provide sanitation systems, lodging, gardens, education, medical assistance, and personnel to care for the children and projects. We continue in all of these efforts on an annual rotation and continue to seek new people to get involved. We are currently trying to create an international 501c3 to fund the mission. We are also trying to help the children and personel become self supporting by gardening, raising livestock and trades including greeting cards and jewlery making.
