The Problem

I want to raise funds for cancer research. I especially want to help pediatric cancer patients. I am a cancer survivor. However, not all kids are as lucky as I was. I have seen children die from the same cancer that I survived; others lived, but were left without a leg, eyesight, or with diminished brain capacity.

Plan of Action

Each year I plan out the bowl-a-thon with administration. Once a date has been approved I call up Greenway Bowl and talk to their manager. I explain the fundraiser and negotiate the price of bowling, including shoes and galaxy bowling. After I have confirmed a time and price with the bowling alley, I call up Ms. Howard, the president of The Children's Cancer Foundation, to get the pledge sheets. However, this is only half the battle. I then must advertise the bowl-a-thon. As president of key club I encourage club members to talk to their friends and get them involved. I additionally make announcements over the intercom, hand out bowl-a-thon flyers, and lead the club in making bowl-a-thon posters. Then the fundraising comes in. Each participant must raise at least $20.00 to go on the trip. Thankfully, many members donate more than the minimum amount. Then finally we celebrate by going bowling.
