The Armenian Genocide
the problem:
I'm trying to get recognition of the Armenian Genocide. To be more specific I want to inform the delegates of Junior States of America on the Armenian Genocide. The Armenian Genocide has been denied for the past 95 years, committed between 1895-1918 by the Ottoman Empire and resulted in the deaths of 1.5 million Armenians.

25why it's important:
I am an Armenian who understands the truth and can present the facts of this atrocity. I want to educate those who have never heard of the Armenian Genocide. I want the delegates of Junior States of America to leave the One-Day Conference with a new perspective.
the plan of action:
To present my plan to the proctor of the Junior States of America Chapter at my school. Once I receive her approval to support me I will make an appointment with the principle of my school to receive permission to hold the event at school. Once I receive his permission I will reserve the date and begin to make the necessary phone calls to anyone who would play a part in the conference (guest speakers, chapter presidents, JSA cabinet members, regional directors of JSA, and faculty members who wish to participate).
how you can get involved:
It's really easy to get people involved in a project once you find a way for them to connect to whatever the issue is. The Armenian Genocide is not the most interesting issue to many people. That's not their fault, because they may never have even heard about it, chances are they may have listened to opposing propoganda. In any case relate the issues whether it's emotionally or mentally.
