The Problem
The goal of Art Feeds is to bring art back into schools to provide a creative outlet for children. Our community has a limited amount of funding for expansive art programs in local schools, our goal is to broaden these programs and empower more children through creativity.
Plan of Action
Each week, Art Feeds produces innovative art programs in local elementary schools, impacting 60-120 students. We take a group of young volunteers, and educationally introduce a new form of art with every project. These projects include but are not limited to- painting, drawing, writing, dancing, singing, playing musical instruments and photography. The Art Feeds projects are geared toward fueling the imagination, advocating dreams, educating on the impact of art and allowing ample creativity. Art Feeds provides all art supplies for these projects so schools do not have to use their own education funds.
The emphasis Art Feeds brings back in to schools through creativity has already impacted many children. The programs reach out to all kids, including those in the behavioral disorder and learning disorder systems. The effects have been tremendous in these special needs areas. The art has allowed a creative outlet for children who find it difficult to learn in a conventional setting a new level of creativity and intelligence. Children in the behavioral disorder program have grown significantly with the use of art; our programs have opened an avenue of no constraint within art, which provides a catharsis for their behavioral needs.
