Art Feeds

The Problem

Art Feeds is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that exists to mobilize creative healing and encourage creative development. We are a Mobile Arts Center and community of individuals dedicated to the growth and healing of children through art. Art Feeds is based out of Joplin, MO and conducts mobile programs within schools and after school programs on a consistent basis with elementary students who have undergone trauma and overcome obstacles in Joplin, MO. The programs use therapeutic art and creative education that comes free of cost to the participating students and schools.

Plan of Action

Art Feeds has reached 11,500 children to date and will start this Fall semester with 3,800 students on our weekly roster. Art programs provide 30-60 minutes of instruction weekly to the schools we serve to create a stable and growing relationship with the students through therapeutic art and creative education. Art Feeds strives to cultivate an environment where students are empowered to express themselves, thereby mobilizing creative healing. Students are exposed to painting, drawing, dancing, sculpting, writing, music, photography, performing arts, and more. We use these forms of expression to help the students explore, express and integrate emotional expression through visual, performing and creative arts. Our programs and processes are created to facilitate healing as well as cognitive and developmental growth. Art Feeds strives to live by the lessons the children teach us, these are to- Love Naively. Project Updates

Art Feeds volunteer efforts has had exponential growth, over 10 fold since Art Feeds inception. In the past six months Art Feeds has impacted over 400 more children in the pursuit of creative expression. Alignments with three new schools and one after school program has been made with art programs and creative therapy given to the children weekly and bi-weekly.
