The Problem
Here in Indianapolis, there is a lack of quality arts education both inside and outside of school. Many homegrown artists leave the Circle City to be a part of cities and communities that embrace and support their art form. Because there are no world-class artists in Indianapolis, there are no world-class opportunities for arts education. Furthermore, quality arts training is oftentimes an expensive endeavor. Art is for everyone, not just the wealthy. Indianapolis needs quality arts education for all of its children and families-- that includes kids from low-income households.
Plan of Action
My vision is to create an organization (tentatively Arts Change Indy)that bring world-class instruction in performing and traditional arts of all kinds to Indianapolis Public School students free of charge.
