ARTS DAY

Check out our videos!

the problem:

There are so many underpriviledged families who can not provide fine arts exposure to their children. In order to provide a artistic expereince to homeless, or under priviledged children I thought it would be perfect to create a day for those children one by one in each community.

vital stats:

people impacted:

40

people involved:

why it's important:

By giving these underpriviledged children with the experience various artistic fields they will not only develop their taste for fine arts, but may also empower them to pursue art as their passion.

the plan of action:

My Do Something Club at IHS has been a the main force to make this possible.
We had made timecharts to plan out exactly what will happen when. Then we followed them through definitely encountering challenges like the homeless shelters we targetted did not repond, but we kept trying and at the end it finally worked out.
Afterwards we had to publicise the event and get many young people to volunteer at this event as we can. To do that, we divided outsleves up into 3 groups:
1.Leadership (would perform all the public relations & coordinate other groups)
2.Performing/Artists (Students who wants to perform or teach art to the children)
3. Organization ( make posters and arrange the event on time )

Doing this helped us a lot to cover all the aspects of our project. We also seeked sponsorship of Staples to donate supplies to the shelter. All these have come together, and we are looking forward to our Arts Day

We will be uploading the video and pictures very soon as soon as we have our first Arts Day. We hope to have many more.

how you can get involved:

You can help right now on a similar cause by either doing Arts Day at your school or any creative way that will give exposures to young people just like you about Art! We all love hear or make music, or some love to dance, paint, do oragami, draw, so why not teach and share these talents you have with others !
