ARTWORKS N.J.

In our city Newark, N.J. our children see a great amount of violence from gangs. Many of our children have siblings who have passed away from gun violence. This is a major problem in our community. I have created the ARTWORKS N.J. program to help children express themselves through art. I call it ARTWORKS because art truly does work to help these children cope with the everyday trials and tribulations of inner city life. The childrem sculpt, paint, draw and just create art. Through the art the children get a chance to express themselves freely without being judged or criticized.
