The Problem

A local library in my area is often overwhelmed with students from the local public schools in the afternoons. I decided to bring a group of students once a week to help the kids with homework and to keep them entertained, thus allowing the librarians to put their energy elsewhere.

Plan of Action

I'd like to start sending tutors to the library twice a week. Also, I have recently been given a donation of $500 for the tutoring program, and would like to see that money go to a new computer that is to be used explicitly by the kids from the local public schools. I'd love to donate more books to the library and also develop a college preparatory 'station' that can provide the resources for other high schoolers in the area to learn about applying to college and higher education. Most importantly, I'd like this program to continue after my graduation from high school in 2012.
