Awareness Lock-In

the problem:

Our community is influenced by the belief that there is nothing to do and substance abuse is a way to waste time. Our club and the club's projects will help people get involved and prevent substance abuse.

why it's important:

Many people are affected by substance abuse, even if they are not the ones taking the drugs or drinking the alcohol. Many of our friends are witness to this and want to help raise awareness and prevent future generations from being as influenced. Our lock-in will be an exciting event that will bring home the dangerous effects on the high school and early college level.

the plan of action:

In late April, we plan on having a lock-in for high school and college-level students. We will have activities that bring facts into the realm of substance abuse and we will have speakers that know the different perspectives of drugs, including police, former substance users and possibly even one of the founders of To Write Love On Her Arms.
