The Problem
The problem of at-risk youth is a growing one, one that requires involvement and action from a wide spectrum of resources.
Counselors, teachers, parents and others working and interacting with today’s youth, if they are to help, must wrestle the factors that young people face in making the often difficult transition between adolescence and adulthood.
Thus leaving these youth with chances of falling victim to the many pitfalls that await them.
Plan of Action
The first step that is to create resources and information to be able to provide to the youth to help them with their career and educational information.
The second step is to contact local organizations, schools, and employers to partner up with them to assist each other as references and support systems for the youth.
The third step is to do outreach in the community, inform the community, youth of the opportunities available to them by meeting with middle schools and high schools. We plan to accomplish this with presentations of the program, attending job fairs, career fairs, and resource fairs in the community.
The fourth step is to help the youth with their needs and meeting each ones individual goals. This project will impacted youth to get back on track and reach their educational and career goals.
