The Problem

This can help households to grow fruits and vegetables year round in their own home. No chemicals need to be used in this system. It is a cycle system where fish are kept in the lower container (fish tank). They are fed and poop in the water. That water is filtered into the grow bed above the fish tank. This water provides nutrients for the plants. The plants clean the water and filter it back into the fish tank. The plants grow wonderful nutrient full plants while the fish can also be harvested for eating.

Plan of Action

I would like to make brochures and possibly go speak to schools or other public places on the ease of making your own aquaponics system. I am highly interested in community work. I am studying to be a registered dietitian currently. I plan on working to inform community on sustainability and health. This is very important to me.
