Mr. Wilbur (our music teacher) helped us with the poem and he made a video of our Tuesday night Jazz Band rehearsal. This is a great Motown song we have been performing all year that the audience always enjoys! We wanted the video to share a serious message, but also show how much we love music and how much fun we have performing! The best part was knowing that we are part of Save the Music! It feels good to DO SOMETHING and know that our entire community (and hopefully many more) will be watching it! Thanks to Vh1 and DoSOMETHING for bringing everyone together!
We are here to say the most important thing that needs to be saved is THE MUSIC! Now is the time to let everyone know that a school without music will lead to a life without music, and without music life would be a mistake. DO SOMETHING AND SAVE THE MUSIC! I am the vocalist in this video and I will be majoring in music at Berklee in the fall, but you do not need to be a music major to enjoy best feeling in the world - the feeling of being on stage! Most people only get to experience this during the years in their school music program and never again.

About Your Video
School Band
This video was all fun! The arts are valued and are very important at Comsewogue. We have school musicals, choirs, orchestras, bands, talent shows, and many other events to showcase our department. We want to keep our program at the higher level that we have worked so hard to get to for all of the younger students coming up to enjoy. They should get the same great experience we did, or hopefully better!

Next year will be a tougher year. Mr. Wilbur says that when the tax cap comes in it will be even tougher on schools financially, and the special areas are always the first one hit since they are not mandated by the state. Plus, it is great to be a part of everyone meeting such a serious problem with total positivity! This is something we will all get through and hopefully our programs will be even better when it is all over!
