We are going to take a survey of the school in order to determine what recycling bins we need for classrooms and common areas, and purchase them as soon as we receive our grant.
After setting up the recycling stations, we are going to launch into our recycling campaign, which will focus on getting students involved by making them feel recycling is important, easy and fun. To do so, we will create an educational campaign that will get students excited about being sustainable. This campaign will include the following components:
*Postering with school with cool recycling slogans printed on recycled paper
*Design buttons, t-shirts and key chains we will give out as rewards
*Create a presentation for grade assemblies about how to recycle, why it’s important and follow up with the game “Recyclaball” (basketball with recycling)
*Create activities during Green Week, which takes place in April
Award classes and students green dollars (our school’s award program) for recycling right
We will measure our success by collecting and weighing recycling on set days of the every month to plot our recycling gains.
