BeFly Garden is a student-organized community service project dedicated to beautifying a local K-8 non-profit charter school, Maureen Joy, in the inner city. Designed and run by two high school juniors, Lindsay and Meaghan, BeFly Garden will first aim to improve the physical attraction of the school courtyard by creating a butterfly garden. Future goals include: -lining the school's sidewalks with assorted shrubs and flowers -placing stepping stones to create walking paths through the gardens -planting trees around the play area to create shade -painting the current wooden playground equipment -building picnic benches to place in the play area We also aim to involve the kindergarten classes in a project to creatively decorate the stepping stones as a class activity.
