Bequia Sunshine Project

the problem:

The William and Mary Bequia Sunshine Project hopes to improve the current education conditions of the schools on the island of Bequia in the Caribbean. The trip involves two weeks of painting the local high school, tutoring children with special needs and high school students, and helping to run after school activities. This is the first year that the trip will be run totally by students from the College of William and Mary. In the past the program has been run through the Education Department and has focused on tutoring and evaluating. This year the program will also focus on direct service as the group will also be raising money to paint the local high school, which is in dire need of repair.
