Plan of Action

In order for the Bethel Teen Leaders to help with the social marketing of the Bethel Foundation, I had to decide what websites we would use for our social networking. There are many social networking sites on the internet, but I had to find the ones most beneficial to charities. The Bethel Foundation already had profiles on MySpace and Facebook. The Teen Leaders took over those websites in order to update them and use them more efficiently. I then discovered the website Goodsearch.com, a website that is a crucial part of our social networking. Goodsearch.com donates .01 cent for every search made in honor of a particular charity of the searchers choosing. Goodsearch.com takes the money made from advertising on the website and directly divides it among charities. The Bethel Teen Leaders made a profile on the website and through our other social networking sites, we continued to promote use of Goodsearch.com. In addition to MySpace and Facebook the Bethel Teen Leaders uses Twitter. Twitter allows the Bethel foundation to constantly update followers on bethel news and upcoming events. Twitter also allows the bethel foundation to directly connect with donors and the mothers involved in the foundation in on a personal level and interact with them in their daily lives. The Bethel Foundation also has a profile on LinkedIn to connect with donors and volunteers. To accomplish the Teen Leaders’ goal of spreading awareness, I would need several devoted teens that know the Bethel Foundation and would work to support it. By working with Linda, I was able to find enough volunteers for each to specialize in one website. In our monthly meetings we talk about our individual progress and finding other ways to reach our goal by the end of the year. Every meeting, we come up with new websites to use, which means recruiting new volunteers. We also work with other areas of the Bethel Foundation to contribute a different perspective and new ideas. The Bethel Foundation has several camps for kids where Bethel Teen Leaders volunteer. In meetings the Bethel Teen Leaders come up with activity ideas and plans for the camps. In the new camps, the Teen Leaders will mentor the kids and influence them in a positive way. Through our combined efforts, the Teen Leaders will launch the Bethel Foundation to a new millennium of technology and ideas.
