The Problem

When veterans go to the VA hospitals, the visits are often impersonnal and sometimes long. I made blankets and lap robes to give the impaitents because often times it's cold in the hospitals. These hand-made blankets also give the veterans a touch of home after they've gone through with serving our great country.

Plan of Action

I learned how to crochet when I was about seven years old and that was abig part of this project. I went to garage sales and to businesses to find cheap yarn or donations. I taught an 8th grade Girl Scout Troop how to crochet. My mom and I made a majority of the blankets. I have brightened about 150 peoples days by giving them a piece of home when they have to go into the hospital.
