The Problem

Africa is one of the poorest and violent places in the world. America, on the other hand, is one of the richest and "safest". The two main problems in Africa at this time are poverty and war. The wars bring about a desire for "blood diamonds", or diamonds paid for by blood, literally. Americans go through their routines every day and take advantage of the expensive things they own, without any regard to the other side of the world, where men, women, and even children die each day in ways so horrific. Many Aficans get their hands chopped off after finding that perfect diamond for a perfect engagement ring for someone here in America. Bleeding Love hopes to counter that, and bring a better life to the poor and violent countries of Africa.

Plan of Action

I wish to raise money to sponsor Africans in their daily lives. That would mean better housing and clean water, food for the hungry, and clothing that actually clothes. Most Africans live on an average of $170 a year!!! A lot of that money would go to better salaries for the workers, as well. One of my ideas would be for women to sell their diamonds in turn for money to help the African people affected by the horrors of mining for the diamonds.
