We seek to address the disconnect between humans and the natural world. Through our work with the horses, and in the garden---we offer space for all parties to heal, reconnect and grow together. Hard to ignore are the sky rocketing numbers of homeless horses, and the exponential degradation of our land, and we at Blue Star Equiculture see these as symptoms of the same malady. Based in a working class, post-mill town in Western, MA--the experiences individuals have on our farm are those they might never have otherwise. After our first year of organic food production, we began to realize that many of these families cannot afford, or are very unfamiliar with eating vegetables--let alone seasonally and straight from the garden. This prohibits them from taking full advantage of our farm share, and eating the healthy food they deserve.
