The Problem

Once disaster strikes,survivors seek refuge in Disaster Relief Shelters. Providing shelters with a box full of activities and games (a boredom buster box) can provide a much needed break from loss, stress, and chaos. The Boredom Buster Box could bring together the people/community/family in the shelters, relieving stress, depression and connect the sheltered people together in a time of distress. Everyone likes to play games :) The side of socks bring comfort and are the most often item that is forgotten. My mom calls her socks "Happy Socks" :)

Plan of Action

God called us to be DOERs not hearers only. I plan on collecting new/use(complete) games by placing Boredom Buster Box receptacle bins at area businesses, holding Game Drive Events and send rubber-maid type boxes full of all kinds of games/legos/activities to shelters. I want to do this on a continuous basis so for future disasters these BBBs can be sent with the first response teams. Also collect on the side, baskets of warm and "Happy" socks. This is only the beginning because there is so much need in the world and God commands us to be DOERS. I hope this initial project develops into a club that encourages and provide opportunities for other kids to do more than just WANT to DO.
