Boston Women Who Dared

the problem:

Each student will use the Boston Women Heritage Trail guidebooks and walk the 2 trails to select four women trailblazers from either the Downtown or Beacon Hill sites and prepare a presentation of their accomplishments. The project will emphasize not only their contributions but also the importance that these women made history here in the Hub. These neighborhood women some world famous and other less known will be documented in each student’s walking trail log and map. All students will be required to include a woman of science or a site related to scientific inquiry. The historic sites will be mapped and recorded by the individual student using different types of electronic media to include video and film. The goal for each student is to produce a unique presentation scrapbook or PowerPoint presentation that maps the historical journey of four Boston women for a public display and celebration in our school lobby and library.
