The Problem

We are trying to "Bridge" three "Gaps". One: the overwhelming misrepresentation of the developing world in American media, Two: the lack of understanding as to the challenges faced by individuals in the developing world, Three: the complete void of practical solutions to global challenges within American media.

Plan of Action

The plan of action is "Bridge the Gap", an internationally recognized, tv/web series about cultural exchange that empwers young people to move the world forward. Bridge the Gap TV creates entertaining and educational content that gets viewers excited about changing the world and empowers them with tools they can use to take action. We empower viewers by connecting them with organizations that are making a real difference in developing regions, including: Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots, Do Something, and grassroots organizations around the world. We have created an internationally recognized documentary, Bridge the Gap: Tanzania (2009). We have screened this film at countless high schools and universities and have connected attendees with practical steps they can take to alleviate poverty. This year we are creating three separate web series. First, we are filming on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Next, we'll travel to Haiti with "Un Techo para mi Pais" to build one thousand homes for low income residents in January. Finally, we'll travel to Tanzania where we will meet with the President and get a sense of how people live from day to day in various regions across the country. We're connecting viewers with non-profit organizations abroad and in the United States to inspire people to take action to make the world a better place.
