My name is Stephanie Gerber and I am a student at Brigham Young University. I'm starting a humanitarian aid project called "Music in Mexico". through this project, I hope to enhance music programs for low-income schools in parts of Mexico by providing instruments, supplies, and proper instruction from qualified teachers. I believe that by giving these children the opportunity to learn a skill, as well as have fun while discovering their potential, we can make a difference in their lives as they strive to be their best. What is needed from anyone willing to help at this time, is contact information. I am looking for middle schoo/elementary school l candidates in Mexico. Preferably ones of lower income that have a struggling music program. What I would need is the name and location of the school, and who to contact about instituting the program, as well as any other information you find might help in the decision of where to bring the program. I'd appreciate all the support I can get! thanks!

My name is Jessica. I would love to help. I live in the immigrant town of Immokalee, Fl. Although I'm not Mexican myself, most of the population have come from there. I'm sure there would be a couple people with good advice as to where to start. If there is also anything else you need help with I'd love to help as much as I can. I think that this is a wonderful idea and I'll help all I can.

Jessica,
I'm really excited to get this project going. And dont worry about not being mexican! anyone who can help is welcome! living in an immigrant community would produce some great information. could you ask around about schools that might need help, and how they could be contacted? thanks so much for your willingness to help! Keep in contact :)
Stephanie
