The Problem

Bullying, it is a word that many let roll off of their shoulders saying "yes it does suck, but it doesn't happen here." My school this year is going to do a bullying awareness week (hopefully, depending on grant). I myself have been bullied for over two years. I even got to such a low place due to it that i did not want to live anymore. I got help and am now speaking on occasion about my mental health struggle. My best friend Callie committed suicide due to bullying on May 8th of 2012. Our school played it off as if it was nothing. Callie deserves to live on, others deserve to live. Bullying needs to end. Now.

Plan of Action

My plan of action is to go into a peer helpers meeting with a group of my friends and focus really on where and why the bullying is happening. We plan on having pep rallies, different stations through out school, and an area to "vent". To talk it out is to help get it out. We also plan on starting up a memorial in honor of Callie and all those silenced due to bullying.
