The Problem

The city of Philadelphia is filled with heart breaking violence. As I begin to think of ways we can stop this a quote by Fredrick Douglas comes to mind. "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." I believe that the best way to improve Philadelphia is to build strong children. I think strong children come from positive experiences with adults, peers, and nature. The problem is how do we ensure these experiences? I believe one way I can do that is to create Camp Jamison.

Plan of Action

I have already created a working business plan for the creation, funding and opening of Camp Jamison. The next step is to create a nonprofit organization (Camp Jamison Inc.). In order to receive nonprofit status an application which costs a few hundred dollars can be completed. Once we are declared a nonprofit donations can start being made and the next steps to opening Camp Jamison can be started.
