The Problem
At Granite Bay High School, the culture on campus can be very difficult for students. Students feel most bullied and judged based on appearance. Many are having a constant everyday fight with themselves, deciding whether or not going to school is worth it. Being called names and being immediately judged is something very negative on campus, and we are trying to eliminate that.
Plan of Action
Campus Connections puts on an event called "Point Break." This event is costly but worth every penny. At-risk students, and anyone who really wants to be involved, come off campus for one day to participate in activities that break down barriers and build unity. Students leave Point Break feeling united and completely together, regardless of how they came in. Most are very motivated to end all bullying, name-calling, and other hurtful actions and be more accepting of all other students.
