I am now accepting applications from student's to be a part of the Campus Critters low cost spay/neuter program. So far, I have 18 applications and more coming in every day. I am in the process of setting up the first surgery date for some time in December.
Campus Critters
the problem:
I am creating a low cost spay/neuter program for students at SCSU and SCTC. There is a need for this service because students spend the majority of their money on tuition, books, and housing, which leaves very little to be spent on their pets. The city of Saint Cloud, Minnesota has a cat over population problem, which has been causing the local humane society and animal control to euthanize healthy cats. Students own pets to keep them company during their college years, but have a hard time paying for the basic expenses related to pet ownership. This program would help relieve students of the financial burden of spaying/neutering their pets and would also help reduce the overpopulation burden on the community.

5why it's important:
This program is important to the community of Saint Cloud and the students who attend college there. It will allow students to own pets while not adding to their financial or emotional burden of not being able to afford proper care for their pets. It will also help control the population of pets in the Saint Cloud area by financially helping a group of people who would otherwise not be able to afford to spay/neuter their pets. Students are always looking for ways to save money, and this program would allow them to do just that.
the plan of action:
I have already begun making arrangements with a local veterinarian to do low cost spay/neuter surgeries on a large scale for students.
Goal: To initially help 20 students spay/neuter their cats.
-I will provide the transportation, if needed, for the student’s pets.
-I will set up a date that the veterinary clinic can do several student’s spay/neuter surgeries at the same time.
-To provide low cost spay/neuter to all students at these schools.
Goal: To get the student newspaper to write an article on this project.
-I will contact the student paper in advance so that they are aware of my program.
-I will take pictures throughout the process.
-I will ask students who participate in the program to fill out a post-program questionnaire that will show the effectiveness of the program.
Goal: To make this an on going project with donations from the community through fundraisers.
-I will start different fundraisers that would directly profit the program.
-The fundraisers would be animal related.

Hello. First, I think this is a fantastic project. Second, I'm wondering if you're still accepting applications or if you've already filled your quota? It's too bad there isn't a permanent program like this in the area.
